THE RULES
Even though some people might be familiar with the game, most won't so the rules are below. However, the basic idea is that each player picks a different Premiership team each week to win their weekend fixture. Win and you're still in, draw or lose and you're out.
The overall winner is The Last Man (Men) Standing.
Rules for Last Man Standing:
1. Your entry must be in by Friday 30th October as that's the cut off point for entries in this round. You must provide a valid e-mail and contact telephone number for the results and information. The £10.00 fee must be paid no later than Friday 30th October or your application is void. Upon receipt of the payment you will be sent an e-mail confirming your registration number.
2. As the competition is being run to raise money for the Rovers AC mini’s tour to the UK in the Spring of 2010, half of the £10.00 entry fee will be added to the prize fund, and the other half will be saved separately as a contribution to the minis tour.
3. Every Monday from 26th October (except on FA cup dates), the following weekend’s Premier League fixtures (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) will be circulated to everyone still standing in the competition. You must select one team from the fixture list and that information must be e-mailed to me no later than midnight on the Friday otherwise you will be disqualified. You only pick one team each week but pick wisely as you may only pick any Premiership team once during the competition so if you choose Chelsea in week one you may not select Chelsea again!
4. On the Monday (or Tuesday) the weekend’s results are reviewed. Any person who picked a team which won is through to the next round. Lose or draw and you’re out! I will circulate the results and the next batch of fixtures. This will also show the teams you have already selected.
5. Keep track of which teams you have already picked. The winners from week one will get to pick a different team from the next batch of fixtures in the same way as week 1, again no later than midnight on the Friday.
6. If everyone remaining is knocked out the same weekend, they will be put back in for the next week until we have a winner, but their choice from that weekend is counted.
7. If for some reason the team you have selected has their game postponed due to the weather, then you will proceed to the next round, but you may still not select that team again.
8. If 2 or more contestants somehow make it through all 20 weeks, then they share the winnings equally between them.
9. All selections must be made to the e-mail address paddyfootball@cwgsy.net to be valid. Please do not use any other e-mail address you may have as a contact for me.
10. If the competition is unresolved through the end of the season, it will be carried forward to the start of next season and continue to run from then under the same rules.
